A Spirit of Good Will Prevails at International Meet

International flags were flying as more than 7,000 aquatics competitors gathered for the XI FINA World Masters Championships at Stanford University in August. World records fell and rose again as Masters swimmers from 75 countries exhibited extraordinary athletic ability and global esprit de corps.

Focus on Strength, Stability and Core Stabilization

When developing a dryland exercise program to complement your work in the pool, exercises should be as specific as possible to meet the demands of swimming. An effective dryland program should focus on three key points: strength, stability and core stabilization. A stable and properly positioned body will allow you to swim in a straight line and with greater efficiency in the water.

USMS Katrina Relief Grants Boost Weary Southern Swimmers

A year after Hurricane Katrina, the devastation remains. A number of Masters swimmers lost their homes, but immediately after the storm, a special USMS task force went to work to raise funds to help Southern swimmers in need. Here are three of their stories.
